Frequently Asked Questions
Courses offered through CBU Extended Learning are not eligible for credit in university degree or diploma programs. Courses may be eligible for Continuing Education Units (CEU) depending on profession or regulating body.
A continuing education unit (CEU) is defined as 10 hours of participation in a formal continuing education program
organised in compliance with prescribed standards ensuring responsible
sponsorship, capable direction, and qualified instruction. Some professions require their workforce to earn a specified number of CEUs or Professional Development Hours (PDHs) within a given timeframe throughout their career. This ensures professionals are continually maintaining and updating their knowledge and skillset. Extended Learning offerings will list CEUs and we actively work toward acceptance with industry associations.
All learners who successfully complete a CBU Extended Learning course are issued a digital badge with:
- Verification of their participation in, and completion of, the course.
- A description of the course and its learning objectives.
- A unique ID that is specific to the badge earner.
- The date the badge was issued and who issued it.
- Earning criteria that describes what you needed to do to earn the badge.
