Duration: This course is 20 learning hours total. Participants have 6 months to complete.
This course equips CBU faculty and staff with the skills and knowledge to design, develop, and deliver competency-based microcredentials. Through a self-paced structure, participants will learn to collaborate with industry partners, develop inclusive curriculum content, create authentic assessments, and facilitate live online sessions. The course also covers quality assurance practices for evaluating program outcomes and learner progress, ensuring alignment with the Nova Scotia Microcredential Framework.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to:
- Design competency-based curriculum that aligns with industry and workplace needs, following the Nova Scotia Microcredential Framework.
- Collaborate effectively with industry partners and other stakeholders to ensure the relevance and validation of microcredentials.
- Develop inclusive and accessible curriculum content and learning experiences for in-person, live online, and self-paced modalities.
- Create authentic assessments that accurately measure learners' skill and competency development.
- Facilitate live online sessions using Microsoft Teams with confidence, employing best practices for online instruction and engagement.
- Evaluate program outcomes and learner progress through pre- and post-learning assessments that meet CBU quality assurance standards.
